Basically a rebranded Turkish rifle. Most feedback seems to be positive, and it's basically a budget/starter rifle. Anyone familiar?

I am surprised I haven't heard more about this rifle. On paper it seems Ike it could be a great option for the price.

If I could justify another bolt action with an unthreaded barrel I would be a guinea pig.

Looks like they're running a little over $300 for the synthetic stock, about an extra hundo for Walnut.

They certainly look nice. More traditional lines than alot of budget rifles at least.

I'll admit, I thought we were talking about the old 30-30 bolt guns until I followed the link.

I can help out this thread. We have these rifles. Yes, they have a little heavier barrel contour / weight than a regular sporter / hunting barrel like on Savage Axis etc. or Ruger American. The wood stock models have very decent Turkish Walnut, and the execution and checkering are LAZER perfect. Yes, they have polymer mags and bottom metal. The triggers are adj. The finish is much better than RAR or Savage Axis class. The bolt is low throw with three lugs. Comes with picatinny rail. Though you get a rifle that is much more polished. They do not have girth in the forearm, so no BAT swinging feel. It is Euro trim / svelte. BUT BUT THE BIG thing is they are seriously cheaper. The polymer 243's at our store are under 3 bills. I have much more to say but post work old man-tired nap time approaches fast. WELL WORTH the money. They are the new Remington 788's .... 2023

I too am a little disappointed that its imported, but Savage is gonna do what it has to to make ends meet. It did always puzzle me why they (the market not Savage specifically) were importing so many shotguns while ignoring bolt action rifles (which certainly meet the "sporting purposes" import requirement).

It is good though that this appears to be a relatively different pattern of rifle from anything that I've previously seen (as different as bolt actions get anyways - they're all fairly similar in principle).

I do wish they had some more chamberings though. I've already got a .243, a 6.5 Creed, and 2 .308's. What they did is probably wise from a business perspective just not something I'd personally be interested in myself.

Local pawnshop has a few of them in stock. Look pretty good in pictures & I'm still a fan of walnut & blue. Going to have to stop in & check them out. Grandkids are getting big enough that they will be wanting a deer rifle of their own

These are the ATA Turqua, can find reviews on them under that name.

Its on the short list to try

Sports South has the 308 versions in a couple of other options as well as their chassis gun in 308 and 65

So does buds actually...

I know I'm the only one who probably would want this but I wish they had an option with metallic sights.

It would be great to see an affordable, 20" barreled .308, with sights.

And no mention in the specs of the gun's weight. Seems an odd thing to omit.

There is a version with iron sights, but it dosent look like anyone in the US is offering it yet.

With red dots being so affordable and durable now I understand why companies don't include iron sights, but I still love the iron sight option on some of my rifles. I do see they have several models with an iron sight offering. I hope they find their way to the US. Thanks for the info LW!

I love the option for something that looks like a real rifle at a price that will dissuade guys from cutting up old military guns. And if I needed a new deer rifle I’d surely give this a hard look.

No problem! Four Peaks is the importer for the guns sold under ATA and theTurqua name, they may have some of the other options available. I haven't messaged either them or Savage about them yet.

Im probably going to order a 334 before too long, get in before the price goes up lol.
