I think up thru 1914 they were the model 1894 and after that marked model 1915 with small changes to extractor ect. In 1920 I think they may have deleted the 1915 markings. Here is as much about them as you can get, I think. I am also a fan and have a 1907 Favorite and a 1932 Walnut Hill. http://www.wisnersinc.com/additional_info/stevens_favorite_rifles.htm
The 1915 marked Favorite is a model number which introduced a number of changes in the basic gun. All 1915s had octagon barrels. They also has coil springs replacing the flat springs of the earlier guns. The takedown screw was changed from a ring to a solid knurled knob. The hammer spur was slightly more upright and the breech block was contoured differently and the entire receiver was slightly larger and heaver.
In 1920 or 21 (Factory records are sketchy) Savage bought out Stevens and began stamping the letters SVG contained in a circle in the side of the receiver. This makes it easy to date your model 1915, as to whether it is a pre or post 1920 gun.
If you can scrounge up a copy of SINGLE SHOT RIFLES by Frank De Haas you will find it to be a wealth of information on these old guns
