I have an old Stevens single shot pistol that looks like a Stevens lord in a 32 caliber. Can't find out any information about that caliber???

Thanks for the information. Got it in a box at a farm sale and took awhile to figure out the caliber. Any Idea what it would be worth in what I would call fair condition.

And not all that cheap when it does show up from what I've read.

LEpeterson, if your goal is to turn this into a shootable gun then you really only have three realistic options.

First off there's a few folks that make reloadable casings that accept bullet or round ball and use a nail gun blank in an offset hole in the base of the custom made casing as the primer and pressure source. These are not cheap but if you get a dozen or so you can then reload them for each outing. No modifications to the gun are needed.

Second is to convert the firing pin and receiver to allow you to shoot center fire calibers and find some option to shoot a more commonly found short and low pressure equivalent ammo. The issue seems to be with bullet size since .32 rimfire used a .316 bullet while most .32 centerfire takes a .312 size. So some planning would be needed.

Last and perhaps most desirable would be to get the barrel sleeved to accept .22LR ammo.

None of these options is all that inexpensive. The one that needs the least effort and cost would be the nail gun cartridge casings. The only problem is that they are custom made by smaller outfits and each reloadable casing costs up around $5 or so. The best option for this would be to buy up to perhaps a dozen then build or buy a little mini press to allow seating the bullets into the mouths right at the range. The nail gun blanks just slip in of course. But since these would be a heeled bullet to fit the gun and case you need to get into casting your own bullets.

All in all if you want to turn this gun into a regular shooter I would suggest the one time expense of getting the barrel relined with a .22 sleeve and simply shoot .22 ammo.

What you do will depend on your ability and $ if you dont have the ability. Me I would convert the hammer and get a custom bullet mold made and probably use 32 Colt cases. Fortunately for me I would have a few options.
