Had both and sold both. Everything from holsters, mags etc. were hard to find. Now, however, they seem to be advertised much more so maybe that will change.
Be advised, almost everyone I know has had problems with the brass hanging up on ejection due to the RIC indicator. You can remove it, but I didn't like the sights or accuracy on the gun.
I've had an M9 for several years and haven't had any reliabilty issues with it. Accessories are hard to find, but they are out there if you're willing to look. In particular try Steyr Arms International (U.S. Steyr importer) or MDW Guns (U.S. IGB importer) -- you can find everything from stocks to threaded barrels to accessory rails to scope mounts and more.
I have carried a m40 for several years and have never had a problem with mine.
I have regular type night sights and have never shot one with those trapzoid type of sights so I do not know if they are bad or not.
I bought a few mags before the ban went away at a gun show but I would think you should not have a problem ordering a few off of the web.
there is a forum for steyr also and you can find out alot of info about the pistol on the forum.
I used to carry a glock 30 and after shooting the steyr I sold the glock. Funny thing is the holsters for my compact glock is the same as for my steyr so it was a easy switch.
thanks guys.
so you are saying your compact glock30 holsters could fit the M40?
Seems like you either hate or love the gun huh lol.
i just got the M40 but stilll waiting for the lience to go through, going this weekend to see if i can get extra magazines no point for me to have a gun with only one magazine.
Do you think the M40 shoots like a glock?
I've shot mine side by side with a G23 and the Glock has a worse trigger, overall worse ergonomics and wasn't as accurate (felt recoil was also worse on the G23).
