Anyone have any experience with a Steyr Mannlicher?
My father-in-law has offered me his, for what I believe to be a "steal" of a price. He bought it new in the mid-70's (says he thinks he paid around $750-$800 or so at the time). He probably has not shot it over a couple of hundred times. It is in excellent, truly almost like-new condition, in my opinion. Has a deep dark blue, and gorgeous wood. It is in 7x57 Mauser caliber. It has the "Mannlicher" full length stock. A couple of years ago, he ordered Cone-trol mounts and put a decent Burris scope on it.
It is marked "Steyr-Daimler-Puch A.G. Steyr, Model M". It was imported by L.E.S Skokie, Ill.
I really don't need it, but I dang sure want it!
Any opinions and experiences with Steyr Mannlichers are welcome. I am especially interested in their accuracy, as well as overall performance.
