STEYR SCOUT RIFLES, Maybe somebody here knows.

1. How tough are the magazines after extended use?

2. What type of extractor do they use?

3. Will the rifling twist stabilize heavier bullets?

4. Can the bolt be totally disassembled without special tools ?

FP

The magazines are a tough polymer. Mine have several thousand round through them and have been carried all over the back country without an single issue. I'd call them very durable and tough.

Not sure what you are looking for here as far as specifics but the rifle is push feed and the extractor seems to be a fairly standard yet extremely reliable plunger type. Once again I have several thousand rounds through mine without the first feed are extraction issue. And that is including extensive rough field use.

The barrel uses a 12 twist rate. I don't know what you consider heavy in a .308 Win. It handles 180 gr stuff just fine. It will NOT stabilize 220 gr monolithic Barnes solids. I can tell you that for certain.

The bolt can be completely field stripped with no tools. You can even adjust firing pin spring tension with very minimal effort.

I hope that helps.
