Texas, baby!
As I was reading the latest "Small Arms Review" last night, they had a very nice article on the stg 2000 last night. But hear is what blew me away; even though the germans were supposed to origionally make this in 545 cal, they did not, and the new ones will not be made in this cal as well. But what they will be made in, beside 556 and 762x39, is 762x51, and 762x54R as well!!!! how unbelievably awesome is that???If the R version will come with a high cap, then that is deff what I will be getting.

I thought the actual Weiger rifles the StG-2000 copies the furniture of was never made in 5.45mm, because the East Germans were trying to pitch them to Peru in 5.56mm.

Real East German 5.45 AK-74s (or MPiK-74s or whatever they called them) are quite nice weapons, a couple quality notches above Romanian stuff.

Pishaw... the furniture is just fine, i like the buttstock quite a bit actually, Yeah I know it is romy made, but it is made in the cugir plant, which is not where the romanian wasr's and the like are made, Cugir actually makes very good products, better machinery, computers, etc. Plus, all that is used is the romy receiver, and a few other parts, the bbl is austrian, I think, the flash surpressor is ours, the trigger group is a tapco g2, and the furniture is ours made here, to origional stg specs. Plus it is less than bucks.
