STI 1911 Pistols

Anyone have any experience with STI's 1911 guns?

I remember reading a glowing review of the quality of their Texican SAA revolver, and a compact .45 semi-auto I handled seemed pretty good in the store, but has anyone shot the latter?

Ay opinions vs. the competition?

I shot a Spartan range-rental (maybe one could argue that it is not a "true" STI, as most of the manufacture and all of the assembly is done by Armscor) but it was a phenomenal gun, even more so for the low price.

I would have looked at them more seriously when buying, but I didn't really want a "target" style 1911, and the Spartan is definitely a target style pistol.

STI is good stuff. one of the best "Production" 1911's out there.

I'm a big fan. Been shooting a Trojan and Ranger II for several years, and a Spartan for a bit less time, but I've been really pleased with all of them.
