No, it doesn't look to me at all like the bullets are "knocking" anyone to the ground. They are FALLING to the ground after being repeatedly hit center of mass and in the head. And yes, this is the kind of shooting everyone who carries should aspire to, even if it takes years to get there. This is why we practice failure drills and drills like "el Presidente". You don't ever want to shoot anything with a handgun just once.
As for what I would do, it's going to depend on the circumstances. I usually keep my wallet in the same general area as my gun, meaning, if I can reach for one, I can also reach for the other. I don't keep more than $40 cash most of the time, and if I am carrying more than that for some special purpose, I don't put it in my wallet specifically for this reason. There is nothing in my wallet worth killing anyone over.
Whether or not I pull my gun and shoot someone is going to depend on a few things. I will have to decide on the spot if I think the person really intends to hurt me. If you give someone your wallet, there is no guarantee that they won't shoot or stab you anyway. If you think they are serious about hurting you, you must also assume that they are good enough to shoot you before you can draw on them. Most of the time, it's not going to be a good idea to shoot someone if you have already given them your wallet and they are walking away. YOUR LIFE IS NO LONGER IN DANGER. You will have to decide all of these things at the moment, and be prepared for the fact that if you shoot someone, the D.A. and the jury might not be as convinced as you were that deadly force was justified.
I might be really good and really fast. (Not as fast as Vincent in the video clip.) But the vast majority of the time, I'm going to give him my wallet, watch him carefully as he walks away, call the police, file a report, and cancel my debit card.
