I have a 6 year old LPAD setup that I use on my Lee Breech lock single stage press. As of late, one of the disks has been sticking during the powder dump operation. When actuating the handle, the disk moves forward over the drop hole, then starts its journey back once the handle moves upright. It gets about 1/4 to 1/2 inch rearward then gets stuck. I have to push it all the way back with my finger. I routinely clean the unit and sparingly use graphite powder. But it looks like the elastomer wiper is a little buggered up. Is this the cause?

Could be. Lee will send you a new wiper for the cost of shipping.

Likely. Elastomer wiper should be lubricated to prevent this. You can flip the wiper if damaged.

Lubricate wiper slide surface by rubbing graphite powder or finely shaving No 2 pencil lead on paper and rubbing wiper against paper til it's nice and black.

Thanks for the replies! Found the problem: As my casing was being pushed up and contacting the die which pushes up on attached hopper unit, I noticed the hopper unit didn't drop back down as the press arm was being raised upwards to its resting position. The tube that the powder drops through after it leaves the disk appeared to be sticking. I gave it a couple of small squirts of PB Blaster on the outside of the tube. That took care of the binding. I may need to check the die as well. Now it works just like new.
