Sticky grips

I have an SP101 with the rubber grips with wood insert. The rubber has gotten slightly sticky with age. Anyone have a fix for this?

If cleaning doesn't help, Altamont makes nice ones like the originals.

Thank you uncle. Cleaning didn't help, I might try a light sanding to take the sticky layer off.

I'd forgotten about baby powder, that worked on some of those diamond pro rubber grips.

It may not be the best thing to use but works well on the limbsavers when they get sticky.

Baby powder may fix the sticky residual for the moment, but it is not going to stop it from coming back. The rubber is deteriorated. I had same issue with a Limbsaver's recoil pad, cleaned with clear water and baby powder stopped it for a while then it came back, I was told by Limbsaver that there is no fix. They sent me a replacement under warranty.
