Well, I did order a parkerized and tho others seem to be gettin the blued .... this version seems long in comin to my dealer.

Oh well ... i shall continue to wait but .... as an interim measure (geez, the wife won't buy that excuse!! ) ..... got a Bersa Thunder to ''tied me over! :p ). It's a two-tone version.

Broke it down and cleaned and seems all good ... now just to get a$$ down to range ... hopefully soon. Mag takes 7 but seems awful close to ''nearly'' taking 8 ....... not meant to tho .. is it? Ordered a spare mag ... only one comes with this :(

Nice lookin' Bersa. I like the dual tone.

A guy at the range had one a while back. He had it a while but was very proud of it. He let me shoot it and I let him shoot my Sistema. It was a very nice shooter.

Per Kel-Tec, parkerized and chrome models of the P-3AT won't be available until after the first of the year. If you want one now, get the blue and when parkerized is available. you can send your slide and barrel to them along with $15 and they will swap those parts for parkerized parts. Chrome is $20. One of the best deals around.

Aha .... thx for the heads up there alamo ..... oh well, that explains it and .... guess too it gives me a target for timing. Left gun shop today and said to the guy .. ''guess it'll turn up in 2006''!! Not so bad then.

Point taken re the options ... I did consider the chrome but seem set on parkerized .. suits me. I shall wait now . having got the bersa to play with .... now just that ticklish problem of coming up with a better excuse for the wife.

Oh I know ........ ''yes hon .. the P3-AT is for you really ... was going to make it a surprize''! She'll see straight thru that one . tried it b4!! :p

My dad has one of those Thunders. A great gun for the price. Its a real shooter too. And for what it costs....man what a gun. Yea a bit big and heavy compared to the p3a-t but its an older gun and all metal. you will like it. very nice gun for all around carry ability

Good to hear the comments Bowlcut ... it does indeed ''seem'' quite some gun for the cost.

A thought tho ........ I wonder how these hold up to a lot of ammo thru-put .... not that I intend to over punish it but ... have a good stock of .380 and when i get to it .. will be stoking the furnace rather generously!

So -- will they take moderate ''punishment''??

well i think dad's gun has seen about 200 rounds :p I keep trying to make him shoot it. He qualified for his handgun permit so 50 there, and hes shot with me 3 or 4 times for probaly 50 a time. Maybe 300 and the gun is like 6 years old now. but it still looks like new. to my knowledge never hickuped on him at all for any sort of failure. im in the hunt for a p3a-t for him right now tho. cause i want him to be able to use the same ammo for both guns. and sucks cause hardly anyone in Nashville area seems to have one. Id like to atleast see it before I buy :D im old fashioned i guess....and just 25
