Stock loose on Remington 550-1

So on a 550-1 is it common for the stock to be lost? Seems like since that one bolt only holds the stock to the receiver it's not much holding it on. Is this normal or is it something you can do to fix it? You can back the cap on the end of the receiver out until it's fairly lose then it will hold it tight but it seems like you don't want it lose as it seems like it would cause a problem not holding pressure on the spring. Is there a fix for this problem with this gun or what's the deal?

I'm assuming you mean the forestock; that is common for it to be loose and wiggly, it is even like this on the 552, which is still being made today, and they still are loose.

The whole stock moves. Well, the whole metal will move in the stock. It's a one piece stock.
