A quick update on the Stoeger B2000 that I purchased earlier this year. For the initial thread click here.

After close to 10 cases of shells (2000 rounds) I'm happy to report that the Stoeger has proven to be worth every penny of the modest $450 price I paid for it. Aside from some initial cycling failures (which were traced to the cheapo 7/8 oz Win white box ammo) there hasn't been a single problem with the gun.

Operation has gotten more and more smooth as the gun wears in. Patterning has not changed. There is no apparent wear to any moving parts, and the bore has tolerated several hundred rounds of steel shot with no problems. The blueing and wood finish has begun to show some scabbard wear, but it's not anything out of the ordinary considering that the gun has spend 99% of it's life rattling around in the trunk of my car.

Tear-down is so simple it's scary. Since there is no gas system to deal with, cleaning is easily accomplished with a little BreakFree and some rags. Just hose it down, wipe away the excess, and reassemble.

As I said in the first post I bought this gun to replace my ancient Browning Sweet Sixteen. I now know that I made a good choice. It even has that satisfying mechanical "Clang!" when the bolt slams home, just like my old Browning. I would not hesitate to recommend this fine shotgun to anyone who wants a decently priced field gun.
