Well my M2000 crapped out on me today at the skeet range. I've fired about 1500 rds through it. During this time it's had some misfeeds with 1 1/8 oz target loads. The front of the shells would sometimes hang up on the back lip of the chamber. I continued to use it though hoping that this was all just part of breaking the gun in. I even fired 100 rds of heavy 1 1/4 oz hunting loads through it to see if that would fix some of the bugs. No such luck. Today while I was shooting skeet it did something really bad. For some reason the bolt got stuck about halfway back with a spent case still in the chamber. The bolt was completly frozen in place it wouldn't go either forward or back. I had to take the barrel off to get the hull out and finally got the bolt to move forward. Now the bolt won't lock back and that little bolt locking tab in front of the trigger guard is frozen and doesn't seem to be working either. I'm taking it back to the gunshop this week to see if Stoeger can fix it. What do you think might be wrong with it? I have heard a few reports of some of these M2000's breaking firing pins. Does Stoeger have some good customer service? I bought this gun because it was cheaper than buying a Beneli but like the old saying goes I guess I got "What I paid for." Maybe I should have spent the extra money on a Beneli Super Black Eagle. Anyone else have some similar problems or experience with this gun?

I always say don't judge until they have a chance to make it right. Every maker makes mistakes too, even Benelli. Some guy on a Remington board has an 870 that jams. An 870 ! A pump gun ! After 10 million and some guy in the shop can still have a bad day and one of us ends up with a bad gun.
I have seen an S&W performance center gun lock up on the first try at cocking it, ever, right out of the box! But of course S&W made it perfect in short order, so small foul.

Stoeger has great CS. Call them first. There is usually only one person answering the phone so be patient. They will try to talk you through the solution. If not, they will give you a RA#. Don't email them. They apparently don't check their email very often.

Your problem is unusual but fixable. It actually may be cheaper to have your local gunsmith fix it. If he knows anything about Benelli actions, he will know what to do as Vursan makes both actions with minor spec differences and better polishing on the higher priced guns. There is not much that can go wrong with those Vursan actions and they are easily repaired.
