I am about to purchase a Stoeger sxs 410, can this gun be loaded without it being cocked? Please help me if you can.. Thanks

No hammerless double-gun can be loaded without it being cocked.
Almost without exception, they all cock the hammers when you open it.

If it could, it would fire both barrels when you closed it because the firing pins would still be sticking out of the breachface.

And besides that, since there are no external hammers, there would be no other way to cock them if they didn't cock when you open & close it to load it.

It is possible, but then you would have to open the gun, have your loaded ammo be ejected out in order to cock the firing pins to fire. It could be done if the hammers are down, you remove the forearm and barrels, put ammo in the barrels and reassemble......but it would serve no purpose at all.

If you are trying to come up with a way to keep a gun for HD with ammo in it but not cocked, this is not a good idea - load it and use the safety for night time duty and unload in the morning, or load the two barrels and leave the action open so all you need to do is close and move the safety and fire

Thanks for the info, Maybe I can find a exposed hammer sxs even if I have to have it cut down to match a coach gun. Oh well thanks again..........

My Baikal single has a "decocking" technique that the manual describes, but it seems dependent on the user to not be a dumbass and let the internal hammer down too fast on a live shell. Seems dumb to me. When storing the gun, I decock it this way, but never on a live shell.
