Stoeger Coach Gun cut down.

Obviously cutting the barrel down to about 12” give or take a couple of inches would require Form 1 NFA paperwork and tax stamp paid for before one does this.

However, for the sake of argument, assume this has been done. How easy is it to cut the barrels down?

I did notice from one Youtuber, they did this, just not the how, and they had the wood walnut stock wood worked to create basically the same style grip stock you see on Mossberg shockwaves. This basically turned their Stoeger coach gun into the modern equivalent of a Perdesoli Howdah Hunter.

I have a Perdesoli Howdah Hunter and love it. But it’s a BP Gun, and 20 gauge. I would love to have something similar in a more modern 12 gauge style. Yes I know Form 1 NFA paperwork and tax stamp have to be done first. I have allready done this on two other guns I have, so I know the process.

so two questions, anyone know of anyone that can do woodworking on stocks? And two, is it easy to cut down the barrel or should I get a qualified gunsmith to do the work?

You're in Texas, I'd look up Phillip Crenwelge for both the stock work and cutting down the barrels.

Given that the tax stamp is worth more than the gun, there's no reason not to cut it your self. Try to get a square a cut as you can and then true it up with some file work. I have a Stoeger coach gun for CAS and, while not to hand, I can't imagine they are anything other than monobloc, so you shouldn't have to worry much about barrel solder. As to regulation, well, they aren't very well regulated to start with, but with 12" cylinder barrels and a pistol grip, I take it accuracy isn't a key consideration . Again I don't have mine to hand, but I assume from your plan that you have checked that the butt stock is secured via tang screws rather than a through-bolt? I don't know that there's enough wood on a straight stock to get a semi-pistol grip stock out of it, so you would have to make one using the current stock as a template. Getting one made would be something like but not quite gilding the lily...I'm more taken to mind of silk purses and sows' ears.
