I have the 12 guage SxS. I think it's the model IZ-43?

Great gun, solidly built.

If I back over it with my truck, I'll probably have to fix the truck. Very stiff action until you shoot 50 or more rounds through it though.

They are one of the most common side-by-sides used in Cowboy Action Shooting. They are relaible and durable, if somewhat stiff out of the box.
 
I bought one around a year ago. It's a great gun for the money. Solid as a rock, reliable, goes bang everytime. It swings very nicely and I hunted Dove with it in Uvalde, TX this year with good results. I highly suggest one. Don't be afraid of the stiff action, since it will get better with time. However, if you are impatient like me, then you can easily fix it. I made a few little modifications (a little bit of sanding/grinding here and there), and now the lever is quick and easy, and it will open with a flick of my wrist.
 
I had a Stoeger and HATED the automatic safety!!:banghead:
Everytime i went to shoot it the safety was engaged . . . Depending on what you intend on using it for, i wouldn't suggest using it(Stoeger) for home defense.

I now have a Russian Baikal 'Bounty Hunter2' and was able to SAFELY remove the automatic safety from inside of it, and consider myself well equipped for things that go bump in the night.

The Stoegers have nicer wood and better overall quality than the Ruskie SxS SG's, though.
 
I've got one that I've shot CAS for a couple of matches. No problems with it, like others have said, the safety is automatic and action a little stiff. If I was only going to shoot CAS I'd have the safety removed, but I'm thinking about shooting dove with it eventually so I'm training myself to flip off the safety whenever I shoulder the arm. It's worked so far. I got the blued deluxe model with color case hardened receiver, and it's simply gorgeous.

They are a good SxS and you probably wouldn't be dissapointed with one but you should be aware of the following items.

1) It's light and short. This is great in Cowboy Action Shooting where we use featherweight loads but the Stoeger kicks like a MULE with higher power loads.

2) The Auto-Safety can be disabled (not that I'd recommend that for non-CAS use). See Marauders webpage and go about halfway down the article and he talks about disabling the auto-safety.

3) Benelli bought Stoeger. There have been reports that repair parts are a little difficult to come by now. I don't know if this will continue or if things will improve. I believe that Benelli/Stoeger is now selling a different model from those of the past though I could be wrong.
 
I bought a 3" .410 Coach Gun about 2 months ago for $300 NIB. As I understand it, the wholesale just went up $50 so you may not be able to find one at that price. It's heavy but the short barrel is really nice to have around. The finishing is a little rough but a but it's still a good buy overall.
 
I bought for my Dad about 2 years ago with the brushed nickel finish. He really likes it. He uses it for dove and quail in OK.
