Sling and Stoeger Coach Gun

Why not, just just be creative. I dont' know that anyone makes a well fitted specific attachment, but maybe you can find somthing that will work and fit it yourself. I've seen swivels on old mossberg 22's that attach with 2 screws that i'll bet you can make work.

Which stoeger gun are you speaking of? The new one with the single trigger? I was just about to post about it.

Why would you mount a sling? You aren't going hunting with it. Jump out of bed and grab it!
Yet another worthless answer.

SHusky,
If it were me, I would just have a gunsmith solder a swivel mount to the underside of the barrel rib.

TimM - I think I will ask the smith the next time I go to my club, although rcmodel's links look good.

And Elbert - because a long gun without a sling is like a handgun without a holster. Handguns don't need holsters, but it sure is a heck of a lot handier if you have one.

I would drill & tap to the under-rib.

The barrels are soft-soldered to the barrel ribs, and that holds the gun together.

To get the under-rib hot enough to solder a sling stud on will melt the existing rib solder as well.

I have a sling..........

.......on my Spartan coach gun. It's drilled and tapped into the rib. I like it for walking in the woods. Since I have it set up for quick detachables, it's off for HD. It's really nice not having to have my hands busy with it if I do a little climbing in "rough" areas where I need them. I don't know about the Stoegars, but the Spartan has plenty of rib for drilling and tapping. Hope this helps.

+++for Kevin. Slings are for carrying, not for close quarter combat, particularly not for HD. A long gun needs a sling for lugging the gun around, or for letting it hang like on a fixed post. In HD, it will just catch on things and hang you up at the most embarassing times. Yeah I know, dropping the long gun to sling position to get out your handgun and start blasting like Steven Segal. Even that will be easier if the long gun is totally disgarded, and you would only disgard a useless(dry or jammed) long gun right?
That being said one of my Stoeger coach guns has a sling(like Kevins, with QD swivels) so I can shlep it around the back 40 easier, the sling comes off when the gun goes back into the coat rack at the back door.
The sling swivel studs are attached in the normal manner on the stock, and tapped/screwed into the barrel joint just forward of the forearm, using a diamond shaped plate for the stud available from Brownells.
