Took the gun to the range for first shots, mag loaded with Fiocchi 123 grn trungated cone 5 shots then 6 blanks ! Holy crap try double shooting on the rounds , nothing eject rounds ,primers hit.Decock couple of times figure somthings stuck . Some rounds fire some dont. Load up S&B same not as bad. Load up Remingtons and Blazers same not as bad. Im totally bumming after about 100 rounds , get home clean gun check everything put together dry fire a couple times even upside down, I dont know why ? A small round piece of brass primer comes out of gun .Must of got stuck in the firing pin first rounds of the Fiocchi ammo , gonna shoot tommorrow ,Is this crazy or what , any ideas.?

Yeah, probably a strange coincidence. Fiocchi is usually great ammo. Clean the firing pin and try it again. I haven't heard anything bad about a Cougar yet. Not like my PT1911, ha...

Make sure you oil it nice and good all the places where slide meets the frame (metal on metal).

I had a terrible experience with mine first time out but it was because I did not lube it well. Once you lube it up properly you'll be fine.

yes, strange indeed. make sure that you clean it and lube it, especially the contact point of the rotating barrel and the stud. I've found that the Cougar likes to be run a bit "wet". Mine has over 800 rounds of ammo through it with no problems.

cougar 2nd test

Thanks for the replys , just got back from the range running 4 dif types of ammo, not 1 problem, I believe a small piece of the primer from the first Fiocchi rounds got stuck in the firing pin. Fiocchi did fine today, man im happy, the gun shot and felt great !
