here is a new model for 2012. this one is 8" long with a 3.75" cutting edge. a nice flat grind with textured edges. handle is black walnut/cocobolo dymondwood with antique iron pins. it wears a nice, dark acid etched pattern finish. this is the smaller of a set of two in this design.

thanks, i have decided that i am going to do a series of new designs for 2012 and call them my "Apocalypse Collection". seemed only fitting for all the end of days predictions for the year 2012. should be fun.

thanks. i don't think i have ever been asked the weight of a knife before. that is a new one. i have no idea really. less than a pound is all i know. that is as low as any of my scales go. it is not a large knife at 8" overall. steel stock is a bit more than 3/16" thick. not a monster knife by any stretch. just big enough to fit well in hand. i had a larger version at 12" overall that made a set of two, but it was sold quickly here locally. the local bow hunters are good customers. now if i could just trade knives for bow hunting equipment...

Lads, please remember that John is "in theater" over in The Sandbox and his Internet access can (and does) restrict his access to certain photo hosting sites.

Posting photos as attachments makes them visible for people (like John) who can get to THR but not to random photo hosts.

Thanks again, Arfin.

I really like the etching, though I think I would have gone with some sort of silver or gray for the handle.

this etch was done with solid ferric chloride that i diluted with water to a putty consistency and applied by hand.
