Storeing guns and ammo separate?

According to Jeff Cooper....

Rule 1. Assume all guns are always loaded.

Yup...they are. Unloaded they're just paper weights. Weapons and ammunition are never separated.

The ammo is in locked boxes though.

I keep my ammo in the safe. That way I know the ammo is SAFE.
I also store ammo in three guns at the ready
