i am looking for storage for my guns. I have a few pistols and rifles, not a very big collection. I keep going back and forth between one of those inexpensive sentry gun safes, or a wooden cabinet for more of a display. Anyone know of any links or estores that carry a good selection I can browse? Thanks!

If your married, ask the wife what she would like. It helped me and now I have a very nice cabinet to display my weapons. Since she agreed, no bickering.

Where did you get the cabinet? That's the problem, I can't find many options out there.

i had my wooden gun cabinet built by a cabinet shop. they designed it how i wanted it, and it's a whole lot sturdier than what you can get at the department stores. price was about on par with the department stores though. i keep all my WWII guns in it.

i have one of the metal stack on cabinets in the back of the house where everything else is kept.

My house was recently burglarized and several guns were taken. They were kept in a closet. I was lucky enough to get my guns and wifes jewlery back pretty quick. BUT, I now have a Safe/RSC and can not express enough the importance of having a safe for you guns. If you want to show your guns off just take them out of the safe and show them then put them back in. Don't give a thief a chance to just brake a glass or wooden door and make off with your guns. At least make them work for it.

Yea, I also said it would never happen to me. I live in a nice neghborhood. Do you think thieves target bad neghborhoods?

That's just my pennies worth.

250 bucks at home depot. Real sturdy and secure, and the best part is you don't even have to support the clearing house for China's crap!

I have thought of getting a gangbox (contractors site tool box) before - if for no other reason than to lock up my power tools and/or ammo in the garage.

They run closer to $300 in Southern Cal. so I decided to buy a Sentry safe for $297 from Lowe's. It fits in the closet better.

I know its a cheap Chinese safe but for $300 I figure I am tempting the commies with the evils of Capitalism! I really believe that Capitalism will conquer Chinese communism.

I just got a 14 gun sentry safe. I must say, I am impressed. It has a higher heat degree than most any other safe in the retail market. And it will take a few (more than 2) large men to take it out of the house, let alone the fact that it is bolted to the floor. For the money, I am more than impressed with what Sentry offers/

I am going to get the smaller one, thanks everyone, I will post picks when it arrives!
