strange occurrence at my house

Good thing you trusted your instincts. I carry at Home and I close the garage even when I am outside. I have a keypad outside on the wall just for that reason.

When i was about 12, I was mowing the yard and my dad had the garage open.. Well I finished the side of the house and went in the garage to get some water when I noticed that my dirt bike was gone. Someone saw it, pulled in the driveway, loaded it up and skee-daddled. Fortunately, the guy was a complete idiot and got caught joy riding it up and down the road about 20 miles from where we lived that night at 1 am. But he had stripped the decals, obviously dumped it over a few times bc the clutch handle had been snapped in half and the front fender was bent. He also took out the muffler cap (making it even louder)..

If I had a cell phone handy I would feigned receiving a call - held it as if looking to see "who's calling" and mutter something like "who the h is calling me now ..... Oh, Frank.. I'll call him later..." and snapped a photo of him.

Was likely just a petty thief giving your garage the once over. It was open,
these types are constantly looking for ANYTHING to steal. Very risky for all with the popularity of home invasion.

Stories like yours make me want to be more cognizant about carrying here all the time
I read a statistic one time. Said 100% of home invasions happen at home.

I don't carry all the time but should. MY S-I-L always has his .40 on him. Good habit.

I knew a guy that was working in his back yard. Lived in a middle income subdivision. Lots of neighbors around. So one day he's in farthest part of the back yard, maybe a couple hundred feet from the house.

Pick-up truck pulls in and two guys load up his Snap-On tool box and drive off. Maybe half hour later he comes back to the front. Neighbor next door had seen the whole thing, but didn't think anything about it. Mentions that the guys had come to get the tool box. Bad thing was, owner didn't know it. Lost something like $20k of tools in about two minutes

Somewhat On Topic: A neighbor/friend of mine confronted a pit bull mix attacking his donkey just three days ago. He broke it off but then the dog bore its teeth and started at him. He threw a brick and contacted it pretty hard so the dog walked away still growling. He wasn't armed at the time. He swears he'll never be unarmed again.
