I have a problem I got a jag stuck in my tc new englander and I cant get it out at all I have broke 2 ram rods and I cannot get it it out I am just looking for idea and what I should do? Should I try to shoot it out or get one of the co2 discharger and try that I try my air compressor and I havent got it thanks

Compressed air is probably your best bet.

I was lucky when I got a bristle brush stuck in the bore. I was able to put a dab of epoxy glue on the end of a cleaning rod and let it set up on the brush, then pulled it out 24 hours later. A jag may be tougher. If you try the epoxy trick, flood the bore with something slick like WD-40 or Ballistol before you try to tug it out. Can't hurt, might help.

It may be time to see a gunsmith.

That sucks. I got one stuck good once. I soaked with Windex for about 1/2 hour. A trick I saw on message board, might have been this one. It pulled out ok. If it doesn't feel right going in, I stop and start over. The wrong patch, or a double patch is usually my problem.

I would try the air compressor without adding any fluid first. Making the patch swell can be counter productive.

Attach your range rod to the stuck jag. Tie a pipe hitch knot to the rod and the other end to something sturdy, like your trailer hitch and give it a good yank or two! Do this of course after pouring some lube down the bore to help things along.

If all else fails you can pull the breech plug and then drive it out. Are the rods physically breaking, the threads pulling out of the end, or did the threaded portion break off of the jag? If the threaded portion broke off of the jag and compressed air or CO2 won't shoot it out (be aware of where the muzzle is pointed before applying pressure) then I think the logical alternative would be removing the breech plug.

stuck jag

I have been there. I removed the nipple and filled with as much 3f as possible. Primed and fired into the ground. Have also fired at paper with my ramrod still in the barrel! (Pistol)

I had a brush and rag stuck in mine a while back.
Took the nipple out and got some powder in behind it,replaced the nipple and shot it out.
