Hello, Guys and Gals of TheHighRoad,
My name Is Evan and I am currently wrapping up a bachelors degree in Anthropology at the University of North Texas in Denton. With the permission of the staff here I am conducting an ethnographic research project as part of my course of study this semester. The project is for a class about Virtual communication and Online communities.
As part of my research I need to interview a few members of TheHighRoad. If anyone would like to talk about their experience on THR via phone or Skype I would really appreciate it. Also for any members or moderators in the Dallas/Ft.Worth area I would jump at the opportunity to buy you a cup of joe or a brew and chat about THR face to face. Please PM me if you're interested.
If You can't spare the time for an interview but would like to contribute please post on this thread about your experience on THR. I would really like to know; which aspects of this community you find most valuable, what does this community offer that isn't found in brick and mortar communities, and what does THR offer over other online communities.
Also, This project is purely for in class academic purposes. It will not be published. It will not be available outside of the class. Anonymity is a priority in all ethnographic research and this is no exception.
Thanks in advance for your help, as we said in the scouts, every ounce counts. If you have any questions about the project post 'em up I'll be happy to answer them.
Happy shooting
-Evan
