Mags seem to be hard to get.

The GB stands for 'Gasse Bremske' (CZeck me on the spelling), or 'gas brake' referring to the method of recoil management. I have seen a couple of the pistols at gun shows (18 round magazine, OH YEAH!!!), then realized that the mags were made of unobtainium, and priced north of nonaffordium. My interest died quickly, when compared to my recreation fund. I shoot CZs now.

Was that the Steyr or the Cz you were referring to? I remember reading somewhere that the CZ was the standard others were compared to, but for the life of me, I can't place the article/post. The only thing shorter than my memory is...oh, never mind.

Personally I would pay ~$500-$600 for one in decent condition. They are a durable gun. They aren't horribly rare, and they really aren't desirable so be patient if you want one (don't believe 99% of the things dealers say).

The GB has a fixed barrel and as such I often hear people talk about what a tack driver they are.
I had one for many years and shot it a lot.
The pistol is very accurate and ergonomics are pretty good but is large and not for someone with small hands. Finding holster for is impossible but it is not a gun you would carry due to width. They are not common but not exactly rare either.
I sold my gun few years ago for $550 and that was for the pistol and two magazines. I had 7 other spare magazines that I sold over the years for low of $110 to high of $150. I know someone who purchased a mag recently for $170 and he was happy to pay for it as he was looking for months. For a pistol in very good condition with one magazine I would not pay more than $400... $450 top. Cost of spare magazine should be considered/added to your purchase price since it only comes with one mag.

guys i know this is a bit off topic but the Steyr M, is it hard to find mags for it and how much do they cost?
I've wanted a Steyr GB since they came out. I'll pick one up someday, when I run across the right gun, at the right price, at the right time.
Looks like I should hold out for a late commercial model, with the spur hammer and smooth trigger, according to that article.
