Went to the indoor range with my buddy and shot his Kel-Tec Sub2000 (9mm, S&W mags) for the first time today. :neener:
What a neat little unit!! it was a blast to shoot!!!!!
Firing American FMJ 9mm ammo it had no malfunctions, and at 25 yards I easily put 10 rounds of rapid fire into the 9 ring on a sillouette target. This was off-hand and shooting as soon as I got sight alignment/sight picture...bang...bang...bang...
Recoil was a little more then I expected, but not uncontrolable.

I didn't like the mag release, nor did I like the charging handle (pain in the *** to lock it back).
I did like the sights, easy to see and focus on, grips could use to be more ergo. Taller shooters will like the 1" extension..I was perfect without it (I'm 5'3":what:)

At about 15 yards my buddy shot a 4" group....I'm sure with some trigger work and better ammo, from a bench you could really get tighter groups....but for a self defense and police 'back up' carbine, its a damn fine little unit!

How many rounds can you fire without cleaning before the blowback action gums up?

We put over 200 rounds through it with 0 malfunctions, and he put a box through it yesterday (first box) without cleaning it, so at least 250 rounds :neener:

Can you describe the sights? How do you rate them? I'm trying to get a handle on how the SU-16 sights might be.

Hmmmm...

Can you describe the sights? How do you rate them?
Very toy like; however they present a very nice sight picture and are the right height for the gun in its present configuration. I imagine from a bench you could do some respectable shooting. Even off-hand rapid fire the sight aquisition was quick thanks to the very bright front sight post (red). Some people think the rear peep is to small (can be carefully drilled out), I thought it was just right for the gun. Would be nice if it was selectable (like the M16/AR15) where you could choose the size of the peep by rotating the rear sight....
(Kel-tec, are you listening?!? :neener: )

Neat little guns. I got to see one in OD green that took glock 19 mags.

Almost got it, but a Bushy lower was calling to me a bit louder. :D

They seemed to be pretty decent and definitely a neat idea for a survival rifle.

Good Shooting

Yes, I do.
And no, it doesn't.
S&W mags, glock mags, and Beretta mags (you have to buy specificially for those mags).

I've got the earlier version that uses Glock mags and it's eaten over 500 rounds at a session without any problems.

Now if they'd make one in .45:D

I've shot one and I wish it had a butt plate like the collaspable stock HK. It would be more comfortable.
