i only use SV because it groups best for me.
i think it's around 1080fps, which is subsonic.

I think it may be a case of a sliding scale AFA velocity and what is considered "standard" these days?

CCI has Standard Velocity (which is subsonic) in pretty big letters on their bricks. They also have their Quiet ammo, which is too darn slow (710 fps) and won't cycle most semi-auto rifles.

Maybe subsonics used to be (the) standard velocity, but with the ever increasing drive for more speed and much wider availability, these days one might consider supersonic loads as the new standard velocity?

Anywho...standard velocity for me when shooting suppressed out of a rifle.
Supersonics when shooting suppressed out of a pistol, since:
1. They lose enough velocity out of a pistol to turn into subsonics.
2. It's easy to find plated supersonics, which keeps ye olde silencer cleaner.
3. They're cheaper and easier to find.

Admittedly, I do not shoot sub-sonic. But you guys have been getting .22 ammo for longer than i have. It's only recently begun showing up in my neck of the woods. However, in the last three weeks, I've seen a steady supply in three gun shops. One shop had a fully stocked shelf for the first time since i can't remember, another had pallets of .22 on the floor. I was like a kid in a candy store.

Ya'll can come to Sevierville tennessee and buy all the cci standard velocity you want for 59.99/500. They must have 400 of them in stock. No one here buys them at that price. We got lucky and stocked 15000 rounds when they were still 24.99/500. Recently picked up the subsonic for 5.99/50. I almost killed myself for that. If they wanted to, they could build 5 more factories producing nothing but .22s, drop the prices down to reasonable prices and they still wouldn't be able to keep up with demand. I remember buying my first box of mini mags at 6.99/100. Now that I only shoot mini mags, I can't get it cheaper than 9.99/100, and I only get it at that if I buy 20+ boxes. And yes, I do stockpile the subsonics. Sitting at 100 boxes. Now to get the supressor tax stamp back...

CCI SV is about the only .22 budget ammo that is in stock regularly in my area. It is about 40 bucks a brick.

I wonder why it's not selling at $60/500 ct brick or $0.12/round? is is not "budget 22 ammo". I consider it the middle grade or one step up from promotional grade ammo. The same applies to regular HV CCI.

The one good thing is you're only paying the $0.10 per "box" state ammo tax once rather than x10.

CCI Standard Velocity and Mini Mag ammunition is very reliable and high quality for what it used to/sometimes now sells for. It is definitely a step above the lowest price tier bulk options. The rate of misfires for SV and Mini Mags is many, many orders of magnitude lower than the bulk ammo. Many. Consistency and accuracy, likewise, are significantly better.

Basically I would say you have all of the bulk stuff...then the next level is CCI SV and MiniMag (and maybe the Winchester equivalent super speed and whatever, but CCI is better than Win)...and then SK Standard+/Wolf Match Target...and then it goes up from there for accuracy and consistency as you go up in price through the match grade stuff from the likes of Eley and Lapua and the others

It's not selling because do a lot of digging and you can find it for 45/500. I did and bought 8 of them.

Gander seems to get regular shipments of Federal "target grade" 22LR. They come in boxes of 325 for $25, so not exactly a bargain, but what passes for a reasonable price these days, and it is actually available. I suspect Federal may have gotten a new 22LR line up and running and it is starting to pump ammo into the pipeline.

Not seen any 22LR at Walmart in several years though, except for some shot shells.

I have been told that Farm and Fleet has 22LR on a regular basis but I cannot confirm that.

Here in St. Louis I can buy 22LR a lot of places.

Gander Mountain has CCI Standard Velocity for $4.99 a box.
Rural King has some Armscor subsonic 22LR for $5.99 a box.

I have no idea where you are but the basspro in grapevine has subsonic and supersonic .22lr and a lot of it at least 5 different brands and in several locations in the store.

Most I have seen in one spot for several years. Not as cheap as it used to be though 555 rounds were priced at $31.
