CMMG recommends only using high velocity ammo in their AR .22 conversion kits to prevent misfires, doubling, etc.

Remington subsonics always cycled my 10/22 and the bolt assemblies look very similar, so I gave it a try.

I only had one FTF which will be attributed to the ammo. There was a nice deep strike on the rim so I'm guessing no priming compound. It's a lot quieter than the high velocity stuff, but still louder than shooting the same ammo from my Savage Mark II. POI was unaffected at 25 yards.

BTW, I'm using the stainless steel kit and lube it well before use.

And I thought the conversion was fun before! 800 trouble free (not counting ammo failure) rounds and counting!

Give the 60 grain Aquila sub-sonics a try. They do real well out of a 1-9 twist & were no problem in my CMMG coversion.
