I'm new to the reloading game, and I have to admit, despite following all of the rules, I was a bit scared on that first shot...

.38 special-158 grain loaded with 3.7 grains of PB. Ugly little things because I didn't want to clean 'em. Federal Primers.

I started with some Atlanta Arms reloads and some blaser aluminum rounds. I wanted a good comparison. The Altanta Arms bullets left nice, clean holes. They are SWC bullets. The Blaser left oval holes, and were really dirty.

My reloads performed better than the factory blaser. (It seemed that way at least) The bullets still seem to have tumbled, but they were more accurate. The SWC AA reloads still outperformed me. My reloads were much cleaner than the BB. So far, I'm not showing any excessive pressure signs on the brass.

I'm pleased with the results.

I'm always a little apprehensive on the first shot of a new load, and I consider myself still a relative beginner. But I am learning and getting more confident. I stay at the minimum loads to start and move up to mid load and that's about it. I like to leave a margin of safely. I don't push the envelope, but that's just my view; what works for me.
