Hi, I come from a SMG Silencer background, MK9's, MK9K, etc. I have tried several 9mm pistol cans over the years & never really liked the suppression levels they offer, I think I might be spoiled by the big volume, low frequency qualities of the voluminous SMG cans. I thought it might be time to revisit the 9mm pistol can thing, the mounting standards, material differences & performance have probably changed for the better since my previous tries. Any suggestions for a purely 9mm can thing? I really don't care about running it on 300 blackouts or 5.56's. I really don't want a "compact" can. I guess the most important things to me are access to 1/2x28 & metric standard threads, performance & a solid, not "weighing like a brick" platform to play with. Please let me hear your suggestions & reasons. Thanks in advance. tim

I have a Thunderbeast Fly9 headed my way in a few weeks. Cant wait to put some ammo through it.

I also have three AAC 9mm cans. A ECCO recored Evo-9, Ti-Rant and an Illusion.

SilencerCo Octane 9 2.0
I run 1 dedicated on a Marlin 1894 (38 Special)--------SHhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.....!
Another is set up with a 3-lug for various others.....
1 is set up with pistons for handgun use....

Quiet, user serviceable, solid, don't notice the weight, did I say user serviceable.....

I have 8 different cans. all but 1 are SilencerCo........doesn't mean they're the best, just my choice..

Here's the gross specs and performance on our can that Hoser posted

Longer and more muzzle-suppressing pistol cans are usually not the quietest at the ear.

I really like my cgs mod 9 for pistol use. It's aluminum with a steel blast baffle and the part that houses the piston is made of steel. It puts weight towards the barrel which balances it nicely. Makes my obsidian 9 feel heavy.

I like the off set ones, like my ospreys.
Got one in 9mm and the short one in 45.
Also have big no moving parts smg or pcc cans and those are pretty nice too for use on blowback guns like the sten.

Thanks, I ended up getting a CGS Mod 9 & an older NOS Tirant 45 (Non-convertible to K configuration). I used Griffin Armaments Cam Loc. I love the suppressors, I think you guys helped me make good choices & I don't have an opinion on the Cam Lok yet.

Cam Lok is pretty slick. I don't generally use any other manufacturer's mounts, but that's one that I do buy, as the geometry of them is complex and really a little beyond the programming capabilities of my 1995 Mazak SQT15M.

The TiRant is a good performer, but do always verify your alignment and clean with some frequency. The aluminum K baffles are pretty weak at the waist, won't take a strike or having to be hammered out aggressively due to carbon build up, and you have no warranty with a legacy model. If the day ever comes that you damage it, we've got you covered with 17-4 H900 stainless indexing conical baffles:
