Im not sure if this belongs in the auto or revolver forum...

yesterday I got a S&W Pre-Model 15 K38 Combat Masterpiece, for a song...Its in about 75% condition (mechanically perfect, bluing is holster worn).

Question is , Im an Auto guy, not a revolver guy, and am gonna take this to the LGS's in north Idaho to trade in for an auto...I am open to any and all 9mms .40s and .45s...Do you think I can get a decent auto for this handgun?

Depends on who you are trading and if they are looking for what you got.

Take it from someone who has done a lot of selling and trading, you will regret it. That S&W is a great gun.

I just reread your post. At a LGS you will not get full value of your gun. If you insist on trading it off find a private deal. You would get a better deal.

Erm, yeah... If I were nearby, I'd probably try to figure out a way to help you out! That is a great gun, but if you don't like it, you don't. Have fun with whatever you get!

You'd probably do much, much better selling the revolver and taking cash to the gun store.

Why not just leave the revolver where it is and let someone who wants a really nice revolver like that buy it and you buy the gun you really want at that LGS you're speaking about!

You might try listing it for Trade in any of these forums. I agree with the prior post, this is a very nice revolver! If you don't need the cash, you'll be happy you kept it. It's just going to get more valuable with time.
