Looking to buy my first semi.. suggestions on make/model????

For Home and Travel...

Thanks

I'd go with a used Mack or Peterbilt. Maybe a Kenworth, but that's really personal preference.

You might want to be more specific about what kind of firearm you want.

Volvo's are nice, I'd stay far away from Internationals myself, my company pulled me out of a Volvo to drive the cornbinder I drive now. I still think I'd rather push a Volvo than drive a funny looking farm tractor.

semi.?

:D Cornbinders weigh too much, cuts into your gvw. Peterbuilts are the Lincolns of the road, if you can afford one go for it. For just a good working semi that'll get the job done you can't go wrong with Freightliner and you can get them with some creature comforts....:) Wait...What are we talking about again ?

Funny topic drift...:neener:
FIL did that for a living and agrees that Volvos are the better of the choices.

Anyhow, back on topic, have you tried any yet. If not go to a range the provides rentals and try a few. Do you know what caliber you want?
You get the drift... Go check out the range, talk to the folks behind the counter and then come back and chat with us.

Good luck!:)

There are a lot of factors that you should consider. Full size vs. subcompact, and of course budget. We can tell you to go out and buy a $300 Taurus or an $1000+ Kimber. It is what you can afford. Then we can ask other questions, like do you want to conceal it.

Yeah, that's a really vague question.

Pistol, rifle, or shotgun?
Caliber you're thinking about?
Price range?

Don't forget to take the price of ammo into account when you're looking around at the gun shop. I'm pretty new to owning guns myself, but so far I've stuck to the calibers that are in use by the military/LE (22LR, 9x19mm, 45 ACP, 5.56 NATO, and 7.62 NATO. Want to get a 7.62x39mm in the not too distant future.) Ammo is cheaper and easier to find that way, and you can buy milsurplus in bulk.

Well, that was fun, but I'm going to close this one and let the original poster open a new one with more information. :)
