I will be in the Airforce sometime this year probably near August or September and I am in the process of buying the nicest guns I can afford right now before I get deployed and have no time or resources to buy them and the unknown possible future of laws that will affect me and everyone in the coming years.
I have a Glock 26,Ruger LCP,Master piece arms mac 11,Mosin nagant,and a Marlin 780 bolt 22lr.I am having a hard time deciding whether I should get a Yugo AK,AR15,or a Saiga 12?
Any ideas would be welcome
There are 2 handguns, I want to get a Beretta M9 and a Sig P229 possibly later before I am shipped out for basic.
I have a nice safe with my parents where I store all of it and that is not an issue the more guns and ammo the better.

AR first. After you get out of the service you can remember all of the good times [and bad] that you had with the AR/M-16 type rifle. You should ask for a military discount or tell the dealer that you are joining. All they can say is no on the discount.

I'm a retired Air Force guy. My recommendation is to wait until after you get into the service, deploy, and return.

If you buy it now, it will sit in the safe gathering dust while you are gone. That's not too bad, but they could also be damaged by somebody else shooting or "playing" with them, or worse, stolen, damaged in a fire, or hurricane/flood while you are gone. You'll spend some time wishing you could get back to shoot the cool guns you have stored at your parents house. This is something that could easily detract from the focus you need to have for your new job in the service.

If you are a single guy, one of the good things about deployments is the tax free/hazardous duty pay you'll get. Additionally, you'll have no opportunity to spend it while you are deployed. When you return from deployment, most guys, especially the single guys with have a bunch of extra cash to buy cool things with, such as the guns of your choice. You'll also spend some time with some other guys that have a similar passion for firearms as you have and they will give you more ideas and probably some first hand advice about what to consider.

I'd wait.

I am around Military all day long, and I will tell you as long as you watch your money while you are in and prioritize your needs and wants you will be fine. I see and no joke SrA and SSgt. driving around in '12 Camaro SS, '12 Mustang 5.0's, and one I see everyday with an '10 Shelby GT-500. Not to mention gun's, Berretta M9/92FS, AR-15's, Sig Sauer P226's (which I highly suggest), Desert Eagles, etc... It can and will happen just be smart and sensible with your money and be patient.:)

If you're really concerned about anti-gun legislation (fear is the path to the dark side, be optimistic!), one might consider just buying some mags and plan to get the guns later. If I were afraid of anti-gun legislation, I would buy a Saiga 12 and some cool mags for it before I bought any other shotgun.
