Officers Kill Man Who Pointed a Gun at Girl, 2
A man who pointed a gun at the head of a 2-year-old girl as they passed on the street was shot to death shortly afterward when he confronted police.
The man had passed a mother and toddler at Lemon Avenue and Pacific Coast Highway on Saturday afternoon and pointed his gun, but the mother grabbed her daughter, police said. The man then walked into a motorcycle shop a few blocks away and argued with customers. Arriving officers fired several shots at the armed man, said police spokesman Greg Schirmer. The unidentified man died at a hospital at 3:12 p.m.
