I posted about bolt removal on mod 1 super x and the gentleman said to depress plunger behind bolt rod. This wasn't specific enough for this dumb old boy.Can anyone help. Also how do you go about the bolt buffer replacement.Where could I order a good disassembly book as this would answer all my questions hopefully?Thanks-you all have a good day.

Okay, looking at the schematic, look to the left of the barrel at part 26sx1 - it looks sort of like a tuning fork. That's the bolt rod, the little tail on it fits into 115sx1, the return spring follower, which is shown just above the trigger group & to the right of the mainspring tube. You have to push the follower back far enough to free up the end of the bolt rod. I don't remember if I used a whittled down toothbrush, kebob skewer or pencil to do the pushing. Or maybe a screwdriver with tape on the end.

The return spring follower that sits on the main spring in the butt looks like this...

The bolt buffer. Remove the recoil pad or butt plate. Remove the stock, there's a big screw that's attached to the return spring tube. Leave the return spring tube attached to the receiver. Just above the tube is a small hole in the back of the receiver (shown in the schematic.) If the old buffer is still there push it into the receiver and throw it away. The new one snaps into place from the inside - there's a little nub on the buffer that sticks through the hole. I was told to take a wooden dowel long enough to reach through the receiver from the front and just tap the buffer into place. You'll see how the little cutout in it lines up.

Hey, I managed to get it all right the first time I tried it. :)

A reproduction of the 8-page manual is available for 8 or 10 bucks.
