Youngest son is going through a Divorce so I brought his guns home with me. I gave them to him to start with so they are mine until the smoke clears then I'll re-give them to him
The subject is the Winchester Super X Model 1. I stripped it and cleaned it, I had replaced the bolt buffer some years ago but all that was available then was the hard buffer like the one that came with the gun. At that time the old buffer was broken up. Now the buffer appears to not be broken but is mashed flat as a pancake. Is that how they are supposed to look? He is not a high volume shooter, no trap or clay games, just pheasants. That is a beautiful shotgun and I've seen him kill a truck load of pheasants with it but as I just turned 80 I begun to notice, Darn this thing is heavy!
If you could advise me on the bolt buffer I'd appreciate.
