So....... Was at a lgs a few weeks back they had a close out table bought a ton of stuff including 4lb of hogdon hornady superformance rifle powder $12.00 a lb looking for load data but having not much luck. Want to load .223 any ideas??

If Hodgdon doesn't publish data for it??

It probably isn't suitable for the caliber.

I'd suggest you contact Hodgdon and see what they say.

The Superformance powder sold to reloaders is formulated for 30-06 in common bullet weights. It can be used in a few other calibers, at least in certain bullet weights. I don't think it would be acceptable in 223.

Interesting info thought it may be useable in 223 but have plenty of 30/06 i can use it in.
The reason I was thinking 223 is hornady superformance 223ammo maybe a different superformance powder.

jeeptim, the factory ammo may not be safe in some AR15 rifles. Thats the reason for the link above. There is no reloading data for Superformance in 223.

I use superformance in 300wsm and it works phenomenal in that caliber. Nothing special in 223, 308, etc. I get 3200fps with 180 barnes ttsx out of 24 inch barrel. This is better than my win mag does with the same bullet and 7 g less powder.
