Have a Supernova with 26" barrel. Shoots pretty good with most 3" turkey loads, but doesn't shoot any 3 1/2" loads well. Figure is because the shot is getting crushed in the x-full turkey choke and causing pattern holes. Have a modified choke that prints nice, uniform density, but looser than I would like.

Would it be worth buying a full to try and, if so, any suggestions on brand?

Can't hurt to try a full choke. I've bought, traded, sold a ton of different chokes and never found there to be one better than the other. I have a truglo gobble stopper on my turkey gun and it throws a great pattern.

I like a few chokes for all my shotguns.Sometimes just a couple thousandths difference in choke diameter will make a big improvement in patterns.I have seen this several times in my turkey guns. Brownell's gives actual sizes on some of the chokes they sell, and you can contact manufacturers for others.I like Carlson's in Attwood,Ks. best.Great work and fast turnaround time, reasonable prices, and plain good people.

FWIW 3 1/2" turkey loads often pattern poorly no matter what choke you use. Most folks find that they are better off with 3" or even 2 3/4" turkey loads because they pattern better.

The only practical use for 3 1/2" shells is with larger steel shot made for long range waterfowl hunting.

Not the first time I have heard that about 3 1/2" mags, part of the reason I asked the question. Kicks like a mule too, may be worth scrapping the whole idea rather than dropping another $35 on choke that won't help.

Other way of looking at it though, may make the 3" pattern better???
