Anyone ever shoot a suppressed m-1 carbine? I bought a Universal M-1 a few weeks ago and mounted my 300 whisper silencer on it. I have yet to see how well it shoots. The can covers the sights so I will be putting a red dot scope on it.

I installed a muzzle brake that is the same diameter as my AR-15 300 whisper barrel. I machined an adaptor that also matched the mounting threads on the AR-15 barrel. This adaptor is permanently attached.

The front sight was difficult to remove. After removing the set screw I had to use a hammer and brass bar to beat it repeatedly to remove it. I removed a few thousands of metal from the inside of the sight and tapped it down the barrel. The set screw keeps it in place. The silencer covers the sights so I will use a red dot scope when shooting suppressed.

Since silencer use is banned in WA, it will be shot mostly without the silencer. I can post a video when I shoot it on my next trip out of state, but typical camcorder microphones do a very poor job of showing the dramatic change in noise level when using a silencer. See here; th_silencertests.jpg

Yes. The only thing WA state law says about silencers is that it is a gross misdemeanor to use them to reduce the report of a firearm. I guess I could use one on an air rifle, but I my air guns are pump or spring, not the louder pre-charged ones.

Only supressed M-1 carbine I had ever seen previous to this was in a Micky Rooney movie called "Ambush Bay" that was on AMC late night last week. Cool that they actually exist.
