Is that all that you have? Sheesh!:what:

Just what I needed. I have an itch for a suppressed .22 which has absolutely nothing to do with the racoon that has been raiding my garbage for the last week. :D

There are at least an additional 30+ other suppressor manufacturers that I've found, but they either don't have a website or there website is not currently working.

I figured that this list would be good for archival purposes.. ;)

SUPPRESSORS IN GENERAL - DETAILS

If anyone has any pics of their own supp. cans. Weather made by you or purchased. I would be interested in seeing the insides and how they alll differ. Have gotten the books and made my own . But still want to see some that are not published. Gemtech , AWC and some others make theirs in secrecy, just like the can for the HK Mark 23 SOCOM.

Schuey, do you have any pics of the carbon fiber suppressor? The links didn't work when I tried, and tried I have.... :(

ok, maybe this lot can answer this...

the gun store gang are working this one over.

can you legaly make your own suppressor for your own use without doing all the federal paperwork?

thats what I thought, I've been trying to sort it out on the BATF website, but trying to find a simple clear answer is, well, difficult.

Can someone recommend a dealer/gunsmith in the Knoxville area who can walk me through my first suppressor purchase?

I'd like to get started on the paperwork for a can for my 10/22.

I didn't know that a citizen could own a suppressor of any kind. What are the requirements and application process? Thanks.

Yep, us mere mortals can own suppressors, full-autos, short-barrelled rifles, and other regulted devices.

But each State sets its own rules. I know I can legally own those items in TN & TX & FL for example, but I don't know the rules for CA.

To get a supressor one has to apply to the ATFE for a tax stamp. Essentially one has to pay $200 and wait for one month to a year for the ATF to review the application and for the FBI to run the background check.

In the mean time one can begin the process of selecting and buying the item, but not actually taking posession of it.

Do a search here and on www.TheFiringLine.com and on www.fullauto.com. They will yield tons of info.

Thanks, Fly! I forgot that state laws can trump federal laws in the case of firearms laws. I would bet that California prohibits all such devices.

with prices like that...

With prices like that and the atf tax stamp you'd do better to make your own. there are plenty of simple easy to make designs that could save you a bit of money. Some made from stuff at the home depot (And if you've ever seen the insides of some of these things you'd wonder why you ever paid that much) Even if you make your own, always be sure to get the tax stamp and forms all done BEFORE you make it!

The serial number of the class three item has to be sent with the form 4.

You will have to purchase item therefore as I don't know any dealer who would be willing to wait up to a year without being paid for a class three transfer.

Once a dealer gets a serial number for a suppressor, that suppressor will be delivered to the dealer. Most dealers will make you prepay before they order or hold the item for you.

My first class 3 was a year in wait.

Once through the system, 30 to 45 days is the norm for the next ones.

My last one took less that 30 days.

Could a moderator please put this as a sticky post. It’s a great reference.

Thanks, Daniel Vaughn

For a can for the P99, the actual Walther-sanctioned supressor is a Brugger & Thomet one, right? Anybody know which one?
