Is there a lamp that will fit carbine, shotgun, handgun and handheld lights?

2-battery? 3-battery? Or will the heads fit both 6 and 9-volt systems?

Probably from the Millenium system?

Yes. Surefire Millennium lamps MN10 and MN11.

These 9V lamps will fit the shotgun (LM90), rifle (M500A), handheld (M3) and handgun (M101 and 111 for the Glock, there are prolly other models for other hanguns).

The MN20 and MN21 18 volt lamps do not fit any currently available Surefire shotgun or handgun model.

Can I use their 123 not-plastic-shock-wrapped batteries in a pinch for shotgun and rifle and handgun, or do I have to stock different battery types even if they use the same lamp modules?

I never use the wrapped model. I just run a peice of electrical tape around the joints between the battaries. Same thing less cost. Easyier logistics.

In a pinch? Yes.

As a long-term substitute? I do not recommend it.

The shrink-wrapped Surefire batteries have several shock-absorbing features that protect your light and your batteries.

First, there is a buffer between the two "cells". This protects each battery from shock damage caused by the cells slamming into each other during recoil.

Second, there is a metal wafer on the positive terminal of the unit. This spreads out the impact of the terminal into your lamp over a larger surface area.

Note that among all the Millennium lights I mentioned, only the LM90 uses the shrink-wrapped Surefire battery. The Millennium rifle units use the 3-battery carrier so you can use regular 123s and still have the shock protection mentioned above. The M3 does not use the shrink wrap battery because it is not mounted to a weapon and therefore should not see much recoil damage.
