Just picked up the SureFire A2 Aviator, does anyone else have this light? I am trying to find a "click" tail cap that will keep constant on, but I cant find anything on the website..there probably isnt one :banghead: - Has anyone modified their tail cap or found one that worked for a "click" constant on?

So far I love the light, very bright tactical beam along with long lasting LED lights.

Not familiar with that model, but most of theirs the switch is momentary on, and to lock it on you screw the tailcap down.

Nobody have anything to convert the two stage tail-cap into a clicky. It is in the make up of the light that you press a little to light the LED's and press more to activate the xenon bulb.

That is not compatible with the single function of a clicky tail-cap.

The A-2 tail-cap is one of the most reliable, the light itself having LED's incorporate in the design, is highly reliable as if the xenon lamp burns, you always have the LED's to fall back.

The xenon bulb in this light is not likely to fail as others, as the design incorporate a "soft start" that protects the bulb from a surge.

This is a very popular flashlight in the hunting circles, (where to get to your stand you need a soft light) and also in the pilot circles (they use the red LED's in the cockpit)

Surefire did a very powerful advertising campaign in hunting magazines, featuring Craig Boddington promoting the A-2.

I have one and it is a great light, although the beam at 50 lumens is not really very powerful.

I have a red LED A2, which I absolutely love. The twisty tailcap is ok, but I do also prefer a clickie tailcap. Personally, my favorite SF currently, and one I have on me usually is my E2L. Clickie, E2 body and LED. :)

As of right now, there isn't a clickie tailcap available for the Aviator. We're stuck with momentary on at the moment, but the design is very good. Twisty tailcaps are very reliable, lot more reliable than the Surefire clickies.

Just picked up an E2E Elite over the weekend it was supposed to be for my dad, now its for my car! I will get my dad an A2 for Christmas

I have an A2 Aviator, I love it, but like you I wish it had a click tailcap to keep it in a constant "on" position....but still a very good light.

I absolutely love my A2 Aviator more than any other flashlight. The light is darn bright (to me @ 50 lumens) and the LED gives me a little peace of mind in an emergency for long life (3 lumens @ 20 hrs). I keep this light inside the house as I will use it exclusively for outdoor use and camping. It turns out I "accidentally" bought another SureFire light, and now I keep it in my car. I got the E2E which is 20% brighter and has a click tailcap. I figured the E2E would be a better on-hand carry light for its brightness and smaller size, as it would always be on me in the car.

I am going to purchase my father a SureFire A2 Aviator for Christmas. He is an elevator mechanic and could use a nice torch. The A2 will give him exactly what he needs. He is really going to get good use of it and that makes me feel good! :D
