OK, so the Surefire comes with a battery pack...which seems to be just 2 or 3 (depending on the model) batteries shrink-wrapped together. Is there any practical difference between using the packaged batteries versus the appropriate number of 'aftermarket' batteries?
I imagine it would have something to do with recoil buffering, if anything at all.
I ask because I will use the light more in training if I know that I won't have to pay an arm and a leg to replace the Special Tactical Battery Pac.
Mike
PS alternately, I could just use loose batteries for training (if it won't damage the light) and save the packed set for duty use. Hmmm....
