I'd love to have one. But, my wife would have me committed for spending that kind of money on a "flashlight."

Anybody have one? What do you think?

save your money for the kroma. the u2 is cool, what with its adjustable lumen output, but honestly, how many of those will you really use?
its what, 2 to 60, right? the kroma will have a combination of led and xenon, and has both red and blue led.

another option is the l2 lumamax, 15 lumens to 100.

If you're going to be committed, might as well go for the best of reasons and go well prepared. I am a longtime Surefire fan but recently bought and am T&Eing a Night-Ops Gladius. This has become the light that will probably be my "if only one light" light. I agree on the U2 - have read too many horror stories about that light, which is an exception to the rule that SF makes the best lights around even if they are pricey.

Like Surefires in general but the U2 doesn't turn me on, especially with the awful quality problems. Maybe an A2 might be more your speed if you want something with different power settings. Streamlight makes a cheap light similar to the A2 called the Night Com.

Thanks for the info, but there was no danger of me dropping that kind of money. Shame about the quality issues. Shouldn't be any at that price. I have about three SureFires, plus a few others, so, I'm covered. :)

If it was my money I would spend it on a Night Ops Gladius to be honest having seen both lights.

My Night Ops Gladius is the last light I am buying for awhile, unless its another one. I've had one of the first and its going strong!! Carry it every day.

I got to evaluate a U2 on CPF a few weeks back. Very nice light, must have gotten lucky, minimal donut (it happens with a Lux5) solid clicky and 18650 Li Ion battery support. If I had some extra disposible income I'd prob have one for my pocket camping light. That way one light can do it all.

Don't know if it's "worth" it, but the U2 is the best light I've ever used. A bit bigger than the A2, but a lot brighter and a lot more useful too. No doughnut here either, just nice white light.
