Title pretty much says it all. If it were you, would it be worth the extra $100 to have a more "flush-fitting" light on a Glock 19?

Is the XC1 any better quality than the TLR-1? Or is the main advantage simply the fact that it doesn't stick out obnoxiously past the muzzle?

I have experience with the TLR-1, but not the XC1. If any of you have tried or own the XC1, please chime in!

Depends on what you want it for. The TLR-1 is fine for home use, not so great for carry. The XC-1 is a really practical carry option. Not as bright as the TLR-1, but a whole lot more compact in all three dimensions.

Like Mike said, it depends on what you plan on using the light for. If it is going to be a home defense weapon, or if you want something that you could swap to a long gun should the need arise, I'd go with the TLR-1.

I actually carry a Glock 19 with a TLR-1 HL and love the light, but it does get a little uncomfortable after a while for AIWB carry (most notably while seated in a car). That might be alleviated by holster choice though, and I'm still trying to find the best way to form a holster to carry the gun AIWB. If you're ok with 3 or 4 o'clock OWB you shouldn't have any comfort issues. Note that the light will stick out maybe an inch or so beyond the muzzle, so it's like carrying a G17 barrel length wise.

If you're going to be carrying IWB, I'd probably go with the XC-1 just for size and comfort. I wouldn't expect it to feel any different than carrying a normal (no light) G19. But if you don't need to carry it, plan on carrying it OWB, or just want the extra light/power, the TLR-1 is a good choice.

If you plan on this for EDC, I would just carry your Glock 19 and a separate flashlight. It is more comfortable than carrying with a mounted light, and you have the ability to use your light alone without needing to draw your pistol.

If you are looking at a duty type of set-up, then the TLR-1 is the way to go. The Glock pistol with a TLR-1 is such a popular combination that the choices abound.

I have only ever owned a TLR-1 and use it for home defense exclusively. I am happy with it and the extra bulk doesn't get in my way in the slightest.
