Has anybody here purchased surplus WC846 powder from Pats reloading http://www.patsreloading.com/patsrel/prices.htm . If so how were your experience with this powder, even if you haven't what do you think about loading 308s with this powder. With S+H and hazmat it'll work out to about 11bucks a pound = .06 to .07 cost per round for powder ( 40gr to 43gr )
Thanks, Ron

Try the www.castboolits.com web site. They have a forum just for the Surplus powders.

I've not used that powder, but I guess I need to get some as the surplus powders seem to be starting to "dry up".

I have used the WC-860 that Wideners is selling.

It is unsurpassed in my .300RemUltMag. (very slow burning powder)
It gets superior accuracy and equal or exceeds the velocities of Retumbo.
105.0gr w/180gr RemCorLokt for 3,250fps (factory dup. 1" 3-shots @ 100yds)
107.0gr (max) for 3,350fps, equal accuracy.

Bought a Life Time supply for my .300. Now I can shoot it for less than it costs to reload for a .308 or .30/06.
