Just update after few hundreds rounds - got Zendl compensator, which was fairly cheap and its good help and after looong thinking a didnt change stock. Instead i upgraded with electric tape :D Just little bit on surface which holds on gun while unfolded and on metal pad to reduct sharp "clank" noise when folding it.

Hanguard with that optic (super cheap from aliexpres) works. At starts it looked like it will be problem with cheap corosive ammo, because need of removing handguard to clean gasblock, but few drops of gun oil into vent holes seems enough to keep it in good shape (piston itself is chromed).

While i was figuring that out, i didnt fixed hadnguard properly with glue to keep easy acces to gas block. As you can guess the "i will surelly remeber to tight handguard screw every few shots" didnt work and i lost zero on shooting range. Kinda funny, because just moments ago i lost my hex key = no way to zero or dismount red dot. So we just went to shoot Scorpion Evo 3... gues what - its colimator died too and we werent able to dismount it to.

So now im running with iron sights only and looking for some solution - either quick detach red dot or something what could co-witnes iron sights.

Beside that, gun is good enough, its aged but serve its purpose

Idahou:

Your understanding of basic, correct English grammar is better than what I often see on "theAKfiles" (maybe yours is better than My grammar..).

This allows us to better understand your issues with a gun, and how to compare and contrast its features.

And your writing doesn't seem to follow any slivovitz.

Many of the gun owners on the Internet (here in the US) must have done a "Lomcevak" before they touch a mouse and keyboard.

If you're shooting corrosive and live someplace with the humidity over ~20% don't count on oil to save your steel. I've seen rust on chromed steel and stainless gun parts where the owner didn't clean up with water (water is the key ingredient) after shooting. Chrome keeps steel from rusting but it can crack, and the rust that forms under the hardchrome will bubble it off exposing more steel.

I've shot a lot of corrosive ammo since living on the wet side of Oregon. To prevent rust I: 1) Clean off any powder fouling with soapy water. 2) Dry. 3) Apply good gun oil that is creepy and will seep in between joints. 4) After a couple days check again for rust from any corrosive salts that you might have missed. If you find any rust spots start at 1 again.

Ignition Override: Well, given my background (few years in english speaking companies) i would say it should be better, but thanks

briansmithwins: Thanks, i was carefull about that and spend quite a lot of time testing diffrent procedures and im using "pipe on spray" to inject oil under preasure and leaving it to wash it into barrel, from where i cleaned it. That seems to work, probably mostly because my place is actually too dry.
Anyway im planning to use current stockpile and then switch to noncorrosive ammo. That corrosive stuff is just annoying and it smells bad when firing, its not worth the savings

9holereview made a nice "practical accuracy test" of Vz 58 with 2x prism scope

There was one before with iron sights only

And for the kick, they included vz 58 in "How accurate is an AK47 - Kalashnikov? | Russia v. China v. Bulgaria v. Romania v. Israel v. Czech"

All there are interesting sources and btw - i still didnt find suitable replacment of vz 58 for me
