I went to my club today and took the following. 1911 National Match, lw Commander, G34, and my DW wheel gun with 3" custom barrel. I wanted to get in a little practice, especially with the DW.

The DW sports a red hi-viz. The NM has the normal adjustable sights, the Commander has a set of Hardball adjustables circa 1975.

I had a bay with a plate rack (6 plates) so I decide to try a bunch of each. Preface time. The Commander has a 2# crisp break. The NM is 4# crisp. The DW has been worked on a lot by moi and has an 8# DA. No single at this time. Capable but the hammer spring pin is impeded and will not cock. You would have to see the difference with DA and full cock.
The plates are shot (match time) at 10, 15, 20, and 25 yards.
The DW had 105gr 38spls at 780fps. The NM and Commander had 200s at about 825fps. The Glock used 147 subsonics.
The Glock has a Ghost Rocket connector with a increased power trigger spring, a reduced power firing pin safety spring, and a reduced power firing pin spring.

Everyone can relate to the 1911s and the decent DA of a wherlgun. The surprise was I could shoot the Glock better. Now I have been a 1911 guy forever. I will still carry my Commander. But....

That slightly mushy 2# trigger on the Glock allowed me to pull through and it did not telegraph the break. As I swung on the left edge of the plate I started and got a semi surprise in the middle of the plate.

Now the big difference was at the 25 yard line. While I could rock with the DW at the 10, 15, and somewhat good at the 20, the 25 yard line gave me pause. The Commander is frisky (hey its target shooting) and the NM is well behaved.

The G34 has the factory rear adjustable and a glow-in-the-dark front. I think I will pick up a red hi-viz for the front.

I realize how subjective this would appear, and I can tell you I was surprised. I have heard all those things about people not liking the mushy feel but the thing I really noticed, the trigger has a very very short DA stroke with 2#s. Yes, I do ride the reset. I had fired the G34 at paper,IDPA targets and such but i had never put it to a little precision test.
